If you find that the student organizations at CBS don’t quite cover an area that you are interested in, you have the chance to make your own organization.
Starting out you need to think about the purpose of your student organization: Why should this organization exist and what should it do?
We do not expect you to do a full sales pitch with a marketing plan, but you should have a general idea on what it should entail.

The second question is: How do you want to organize it?
In CBS Students we have two organization types for student organizations:
We made a quick overview of the pros and cons about the two organization types.
Club | Organization |
---|---|
Quick startup | |
Needs few information | Longer setup |
Needs statutes and a founding general assembly | |
Easily changeable structure | More fixed structure in the statutes |
Money through personal bank account | Money through organizational bank account |
No fixed costs | Fixed costs for expenses like the bank account |
Easy to close again | Hard to close again |
Not eligible for student citizenship | Possibility to be eligible for student citizenship |
<aside> ✅ Both organization types have access to the same goods within CBS Students, such as activity pool, room booking, discounts for ordering food in the canteen etc.

90% of all student organizations start out as a club. To start a club you need two persons (a president and a vice president).
Your club must be based on an idea that does not clash with other student organizations (get an overview of the other student organizations here → Student organizations hub). If your idea of an club is close to another organization, we will force you to talk the organization. Therefore, you can do your due diligence in the first place, and talk to this organization before doing the process of starting your own club.
